Pressetext: With its operations based in Graz, Austria, and sales and support teams in North America, Microsoft’s UltraCam business unit is responsible for the highly successful line of UltraCam digital aerial mapping systems that today include the UltraCamHawk, UltraCam Falcon, and UltraCam Eagle digital photogrammetric sensors, and the UltraCam Osprey nadir/oblique photogrammetric digital aerial sensor. Our business philosophies are guided by a strong commitment to provide customers with the most flexible and cost-effective high-quality photogrammetric products to best position those companies to successfully compete in the geospatial services market.
Each camera system was designed with the different needs of aerial camera users in mind, such as varying project requirements and budget restrictions. The newest camera generation delivers subpixel accuracy, high dynamic range, and integrates all system components into a sensor head, reducing sensor head size and balancing weight. Microsoft offers a continuous upgrade path allowing customers to migrate to new products without necessarily needing to abandon their existing tools.
Embedded in the integrated component package is UltraNav, a flight management and georeferencing system that includes state-of-the-art GNSS-Inertial technology, pilot displays, and flight-planning software, designed to maximize the efficiency of UltraCam aerial mapping.
Rounding out the UltraCam offerings is the fully integrated UltraMap workflow software system, with features that include high-density 3D point cloud creation, highly accurate and detailed digital surface model (DSM) generation, and ortho mosaicing capabilities based on an automatically generated DSM or traditional DSM. Indicating its flexibility, the software is available in the form of a lifetime subscription for purchase or as a flexible subscription plan licencing UltraMap modules literally on a monthly basis.
